In keeping with Florida’s home education requirements, students in grades K–6 must complete the equivalent of 180 instructional days each year. Rising Up Schoolhouse maintains attendance records for every enrolled student and provides a year‑end summary to parents for their records. Please note: If a student’s attendance falls short of the required minimum, families are responsible for ensuring that the remaining instructional time is completed to meet state expectations.
At Rising Up Schoolhouse, outdoor learning is an essential part of our program. We believe children thrive when they have regular opportunities to explore nature and experience hands-on learning in God’s creation. Weather permitting, students spend time outside daily for lessons, gardening, animal care, and nature study. Parents are responsible for sending their child with appropriate clothing and footwear each day. Safety is always our top priority, and outdoor time may be adjusted during extreme weather.
As Rising Up Schoolhouse grows, our goal is to incorporate regular field trips to enrich learning and connect classroom concepts to real‑world experiences. Once we acquire a school bus, we plan to offer monthly or seasonal field trips to locations such as:
Field trips will always be communicated in advance and will include:
When families enroll, they receive our Parent Handbook, which includes all program details, daily rhythms, policies, and helpful information to support a smooth and confident start. The handbook serves as a guide to our schoolhouse values, expectations, and communication practices, giving families everything they need to feel informed and supported from day one.
